Mike Fisher Named 78th President of the National Auction Association

GLENCOE, Ala. — Mike Fisher, founder and president of Redfield Group Auctions, has been installed as the 78th President of the National Auction Association (NAA), one of the nation’s leading professional organizations representing auction professionals throughout the United States and beyond.

Fisher officially assumed the presidency during the National Auction Association’s annual Conference & Show in San Antonio, Texas, in July 2026. He becomes only the second auction professional from Alabama to serve as president of the national organization.

Founded in 1949, the National Auction Association is dedicated to advancing the auction profession through education, advocacy, professional development, ethics and networking. Its membership includes auctioneers and auction professionals specializing in real estate, equipment, automobiles, agriculture, estates, commercial and industrial assets, and numerous other areas of the auction industry.

Fisher’s election to the NAA presidency represents another milestone in a business career spanning more than four decades.

A graduate of Glencoe High School, Fisher began his entrepreneurial career in 1986 when he founded Fisher Industrial Service on a small tract of land in Glencoe, Alabama. The company grew to employ more than 130 people and was recognized three times by Inc. Magazine as one of the 500 fastest-growing privately held companies in America before Fisher sold the business in the 1990s.

He entered the auction profession in the late 1990s and, together with his wife, Cindy, founded Redfield Group Auctions in 2001.

Over the past 25 years, Fisher and Redfield Group have managed the sale of virtually every type of asset, including real estate, businesses, machinery and equipment, commercial and industrial assets, retail inventories, estates and specialized property. Fisher has conducted or managed auctions throughout more than 40 states as well as internationally and has worked with individuals, corporations, financial institutions, bankruptcy trustees, government agencies and other fiduciaries.

“Being elected President of the National Auction Association is one of the greatest honors of my professional career,” Fisher said. “The auction profession has provided me with opportunities, relationships and friendships that have had a tremendous impact on both my business and my life.”

Fisher said one of his priorities as president will be strengthening the sense of community that has long distinguished the auction profession.

“The greatest value I have received from the NAA has always been the people,” Fisher said. “Auction professionals are incredibly willing to share their knowledge, refer business to one another and even partner together on projects. That spirit of cooperation is unusual in business, and it is something I want us to continue strengthening.”

Fisher’s involvement with the National Auction Association has included service on the NAA Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and numerous committees and educational initiatives. He was previously recognized as the NAA’s Volunteer of the Year.

He also serves as Chairman of the Alabama State Board of Auctioneers and is a past president and Hall of Fame member of the Alabama Auctioneers Association.

Fisher holds several of the auction profession’s highest professional designations, including Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI), Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE), Auction Marketing Management (AMM), Graduate Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA), Certified Estate Specialist (CES) and Benefit Auction Specialist (BAS).

Although his career has taken him throughout the country, Fisher’s newest chapter is bringing him back to where his business journey began. Redfield Group Auctions is currently constructing a new corporate and auction facility at 605 West Main Street in Glencoe.

“Forty years after starting my first company in Glencoe, we are coming home and building the next chapter of our business here,” Fisher said. “To be doing that at the same time I have the privilege of serving as President of the National Auction Association makes this a very special season in my life.”

Redfield Group Auctions is a nationally recognized auction and asset disposition firm specializing in real estate, commercial and industrial assets, machinery and equipment, estates and complex asset liquidations. The company has conducted more than 850 auctions and serves private individuals, corporations, lenders, attorneys, trustees, municipalities and government agencies.

Fisher’s wife, Cindy, is a co-founder of Redfield Group Auctions and has been an integral part of the company since its beginning. Their son, Justin Fisher, serves as vice president of the company and represents the next generation of the Fisher family in the auction profession.

As NAA President, Fisher will serve a one-year term leading the association’s Board of Directors and working alongside NAA leadership, staff and members to advance the profession nationally.

“The NAA has played an important role in shaping the auction profession that exists today,” Fisher said. “My goal is to honor the people who built this organization before us while making sure we continue evolving, creating opportunities and building an association that will be even stronger for the next generation.”
