YAAK, MONTANA
Below the surface of the ponds and Obermayer Lake
you will find they are abundantly alive with rainbow, brook and
brown trout which spawn in the streams on the property every spring.
Near the banks of the water, turtles and frogs do their part each
year to help maintain a healthy aquatic environment. When you look
overhead you will find a variety of hawks and eagles soaring in
the summer's sky. Among the water fowl are mallards, ring necks,
golden eyes, pintails and the occasional loon. Each season in the
Purcell Mountain Range offers exciting new adventures.
Lang Creek flows through the wooded areas of the
parked-out acreage, which also is home to an abundance of wildlife.
Winter brings snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross county skiing, ice
skating on the lake and downhill skiing is just 1/2 hour away at
Turner Mountain Ski Area. During the summer months hike or bike
any USFS trail, fish or raft the legendary Yaak River, canoe or
kayak your pick of streams, then finish a hot summer day with a
cool drink and fresh picked berries.
This estate is prepared with four 500 gallon buried
propane tanks, two wells, five septic systems and three fuel tanks
for sustainability in a remote location.
Roderick Butte, Mount Henry, Lost Horse, Fowler
and Grizzly Face mountains are the landmarks that surround the
property creating a protective bowl in the Purcell Mountain Range
in which this property sits. Out in the distance over the meads,
landscaped lawn, Obermayer Lake and many ponds, you will find the
homestead' hay barn that has been very well maintained. The Aspen,
Ponderosa Pine, and Cattails also add to this beautiful view, but
the are nothing like the changing colors of the Tmaracks.
Along with the vivid history, the homestead's farm
equipment and antiques will remain with the land to tell its story
for generations left to come. The furnishings and many personal
items will stay with the cabins and the three homes including many
mounts of indigenous wildlife plus a few rarities.
